We just finished discussing consumer goods. As a consumer yourself, you have probably bought each type of consumer good at one time or another. As a consumer we purchase products that are wanted and needed. When were waiting in line with our Staple items, we buy gum on impulse. In most cases, we only purchase medicine if there's an emergency of some sort.

1. Convenience: Inexpensive items that require least process of thought for buying. They can be divided into 3 subcetagories including staple, impulse, and emergency. Example: Chips and AA Batteries.
2.Shopping Goods: Items that are less frequently purchase, usually more expensive and used more process of thought by consumers. Example: Brand name clothing and luxurious cologne.
3. Specialty Goods: Very specific items that people are willing to look for and purchase. Example: Collective coins and historical civil war rifle.
4. Unsought Goods: Products that customers do not shop for or know about. For example, gravestone and mainframe computer (in which used by industrial user.)
